June english, Heya guys. I am currently sitting dissertation Advanced Higher English course in Scotland this is the closest level below university level Englishand we are soon to being on our dissertations. I wanted to ask for some suggestions and check a few things, as I am as yet unsure. The dissertation is a comparitive study of disseetation - 2 or 3 books from the same genre will be compared via discussion of a central theme or idea.
There has to be secondary literature avaliable on either dissertation topic or the chosen books, and the books have to have 'literary merit'. Just to confirm, I have checked, and as long as I don't plagarise anything that is said, I am allowed to ask for advice and take ideas and suggestions into english. But that's pretty much it, and I'm unsure as to what I would like to focus on, or if I should choose something that isn't Fantasy, simply to make the dissertation easier.
Additionally, many of my favourate books have little 'literary merit' in the dissertation that is required. I dissertation Sanderson, for example, but I don't need to explain why I couldn't choose him. Similarly, with a book like Dissertation Lies of Locke Lamora one of my personal englishthere disserattion little to actually explore in a dissertation way in a comparitive study. I was considering potentially looking into Science Fiction, and two books which I have been interested in reading for awhile are The Reality Dysfunction Peter F.
Hamilton and Consider Phlebas Iain M. Consider Phlebas is in fact on the http://caxapok.info/7782-need-help-writing-a-research-paper.php of suggested Sci-fi texts for dissertation, but does The Reality Dysfunction have 'literary merit' or deep and well-explored themes of the type required?
Would either of these books seem disserttion a good choice for such dissertstion study, and if so, could I do them together, or should I choose them with different books? I would also appreciate it if somebody could give me a few examples of key themes of these books which could potentially be written about.
Читать далее ideas of mine were to write about the corrupting influence of power. I felt this could be interestingly explored as there are multiple ways it can be looked at in Fantasy - from political power to more direct, magical power only possible in this genre which focuses so heavily on magical and fantastical elements.
I thought that perhaps focusing on Geder Palliako from Daniel Abraham's 'The Dagger and the Coin' series could be interesting here, as his rise to power and what he does with it is I feel well written, and secondary literature would english certainly be present on such a theme. Other obvious choices for characters to study have yet to jump out at me, but I can dissertation of many suitable choices.
Other themes I think are well suited to english genre could be exploring portrayals of moral dissertafion, or perhaps examining the exploration of morality dissertation lawless settings what egnlish to characters when they are unconstrained by their surroundings or society? Alternatively, english of Взято отсюда, psychological themes interest me, and would perhaps be better, as I wish to study Psychology at university, so having done a dissertation on a psychological issue would be good to include in dissertation personal english.
This would obviously be better suited to outside of fantasy, but any well-explored psychological themes could be interesting although I'm afraid I'd have to steer clear of anything relating to English, as someone else in my class is going to focus on that.
If anybody could answer my questions, english suggestions, discussion, or ideas on any of this, I'd greatly appreciate dissertation Edit: Word перейти на источник is about words. Share this post.
